Now accepting volunteer applications for the 2024-2025 Turtle Season!

Turtle Guardians of Ghana

Ghana Instinct NGO, in partnership with Escape3Points Ecolodge, is seeking volunteers for the Turtle Guardians of Ghana program. As a Turtle Guardian volunteer, you will be protecting endangered turtle species such as the Olive Ridley, Leatherback, and Green Turtles along the coast of Cape Three Points, Ghana. These sea turtles play a crucial role in their environment and affect numerous other species. Unfortunately, their populations have declined globally due to accidental capture in fishing gear, hunting, and habitat destruction caused by climate change and human activity.

Welcome to Ghana Instinct's Volunteer Program:
Turtle Guardians of Ghana!

Join us at Escape3Points Ecolodge for a unique volunteer experience in the stunning coastal paradise of Ghana.

Our program offers an enriching and fulfilling blend of meaningful work, vibrant culture, and breathtaking landscapes. As a volunteer, you'll be part of a supportive community, working on impactful turtle conservation projects that make a real difference.

Volunteer Commitment:

Work 5 hours a day, 5 days a week.
Contribute your skills and energy to various turtle conservation projects.

Impact of Your Work:

In Ghana, sea turtles face numerous threats. Poaching of turtles and their nests is unfortunately common, with people hunting these magnificent creatures for their meat, shells, and eggs. Additionally, turtles are threatened by habitat loss due to coastal development, pollution, and accidental capture in fishing gear (bycatch). By participating in our turtle conservation projects, you'll help protect endangered sea turtles, preserve their nesting sites, and ensure hatchlings reach the ocean safely. Your efforts will contribute to the long-term survival of these majestic creatures, raise awareness about marine conservation, and support the local community through sustainable eco-tourism.

As a Turtle Guardian of Ghana, you'll make lifelong friendships, learn about incredible marine creatures, and gain hands-on conservation experience. You'll be immersed in the rich local culture, living in a unique and serene beach escape.

Come be a part of something special.
Your adventure awaits!
